Figuring out what you’re going to do with your warehouse can be a tricky question to tackle. Given all the things that you might wind up storing in your warehouse, its ultimate purpose can be quite open ended.
One thing that shouldn’t pose a huge problem when owning a warehouse, however, is determining when and how to paint it. After all, when it comes to that balance of form and function, your warehouse certainly skews more strongly towards the former. While it isn’t totally bereft of decorating possibilities, the main purpose of a warehouse is always storage, which makes a paintjob and any other decorative features secondary. Instead, the paint should, wherever possible, serve to improve the warehouse’s overall functionality.
Even so, the question remains – when is the best time to get that painting job done? The answer is all too simple – summertime, and here are a few reasons why.
Avoiding Rainfall
One of the most obvious reasons why painting in the summer is a superior way to go is the fact that it typically allows you to avoid the problems which can be posed by rainfall. You don’t want to have your hard work washed away in real time by a rain storm, which can be a real problem when you choose to do your painting in spring or winter months. As such, summer is a great choice for those looking for more amenable conditions for painting.
Quick Drying
What is another big advantage of painting during the summertime? You can actually use the sweltering heat to your advantage.
That is, after all, one of the big drawbacks of painting during summer. When the temperatures start to climb into the 90s or even past triple digits, it can start to feel more than a little challenging to sweat it out and stay with your work. However, all of that heat can actually help dry your paint much faster. This certainly isn’t the case in cooler, wetter conditions. What’s more, the faster the paint dries, the sooner your work can be completed.
The same holds true when it comes to adding any additional elements to your paint in the way of coatings or other elements to help keep it sleek or sturdy, summer is a great time to do it for the same reason.
Assessing the Color Scheme
While we said that the main importance of painting your warehouse’s exterior probably has more to do with form than function, you might still want to spare a thought as to how you want it to look at the end of the painting process. Here again, summer is a much better time to do this, in no small part because it affords more sunlight and, thus, a clearer view of what your warehouse will look like on clear sunny days. This can be a great way to ascertain which types of paint schemes fit best with any decorating desires you may have, and, thus, act accordingly.
For all of these reasons, summer really is the best season for painting your warehouse’s exterior.
